Server woes. Back up and 100%

As many have noticed, we had a bit of downtime. Our previous host finally had enough of us (and your traffic!), that they gave us the boot! Wtf?

We were offline for as long as it took me to purchase a new server with a better host, setup lamp and finally re-deploy steamprofile.com. Some of you might still not have access to the site as the new name servers will take a while to propagate.

Of course, we offer what we do for free. Unfortunately, servers and bandwidth are not.

If you have some spare change laying around in your PayPal account, please feel free to send it our way.

Otherwise, if you’re looking for webhosting, a vps server or even a dedicated server. TurnkeyInternet.com is great as our new home.

Major Overhaul and Upgrades

I’m proud to debut a new way to generate our badge profiles. We realize many forums will not allow you to embed .php in [img] tags. So now, we truly generate images with your profile info.

The first option ‘In-Game’ will allow you to have a specific background based on whatever game you are in. So if you’re playing TF2, a TF2 related image will be your background, if you’re playing Left 4 Dead, a Left 4 Dead image will be used.

Also, thank you user Alexander for contributing the ‘Steam Profile’ background.

Well our host has saved us once again. I accidentally hit the ‘update wordpress automatically’ button in the control panel and it overwrote this design with the default one.

WiredTree (where we rent our server from), was kind enough to restore our backup from the 12th. So everything is back to normal!

If anyone is looking for a VPS or Dedicated Server, I highly recommend them.

I accidently hit the ‘automatically update wordpress’ button and bam. Our sweet custom theme disappeared. Sorry guys, but we were stupid and did not back up the modifications and we just took 100 steps back.

edit: All of the sigs will still work, we didnt lose that.

Left 4 Dead Style Badge

I have finally gotten off my ass and added another design to the steam profile widgets. You can now get it in a normal gray STEAM color, a shiny Team Fortress 2 badge and now a Left 4 Dead inspired design.

We have removed this badge due to complaints and questionable ownership by the person who submitted this.
There will be another L4D style badge in the near future.

Service Interruption

Last night at around 10:30PM Central Standard Time, a few servers at the datacenter SteamProfile.com is hosted at, was the victim if a DDoS attack for a few hours. The site was unavailable for about 2 to 3 hrs last night.
